The Guardian Concert Band is a community group of amateur musicians which was founded more than 30 years ago.

Afterwards Paul Cooper (Retiring MD for Guardian Concert Band) was presented with an award in appreciation for his 17 years as Musical Director of the band.

Vacancy: Conductor/Musical Director
The Lytham & St Anne’s Guardian Concert Band is a 30+piece community concert band based in Lytham, Lancashire.
Due to retirement we have a vacancy for a Musical Director from January 2019.
Applicants should have:
· Relevant conducting experience
· Understanding of brass, woodwind and percussion
· Some knowledge of wind band repertoire
And be willing to:
· Have a strong commitment to rehearsal & engagements
· Lead rehearsals and concerts/engagements
· Maintain a positive and encouraging ambiance
· Strive to improve the current high standard of the band
Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm throughout the year, in Lytham Methodist Church hall, Park Street, Lytham FY8 5LU. We perform approximately 12 engagements a year.

The band will be playing at the Wrea Green Christmas Lights
Switch-on event outside the Grapes Hotel, Wrea Green,
Kirkham, Preston PR4 2PH
Tuesday 18th December 7.30pm
A joint concert with Preston Concert band will be held at
St. Cuthbert’s Church, Lytham Road, Fulwood, Preston PR2 3AR
